Social Model Recovery Systems (SMRS) proudly participated in this year’s Al-Impics Los Angeles 2025, an event that carried the theme “Together We Rise.”
This theme was more than just a title; it became the spirit that united everyone throughout the event. Submitted by Denise Hernandez Felice, Senior Director of Treatment Services at SMRS, Together We Rise was selected as the winning entry because it captured the very heart of the Al-Impics: community, resilience, and hope.
Every moment at the Al-Impics reflected the power of coming together. That unity turned individual achievements into something shared by all.
One highlight came when the residents of River Community, a program of SMRS, lit up the stage with a joyful 45-second dance performance. Though short, it was full of spirit and brought smiles, laughter, and loud applause from the crowd. It was a beautiful reminder that celebration can be found in even the simplest of moments.
Al-Impics Los Angeles 2025 was never just about competition. It was about the courage shared, the strength shown, and the joy of being part of something bigger. The event showed us that true victory lives in unity and hope.
More than a win, Denise’s theme reflects the values SMRS brings to life through our work. Just as SMRS walks beside people on their recovery journey, the Al-Impics stood as a potent reminder that we rise higher when we rise together.
