Mid Valley Outpatient, a program of Social Model Recovery Systems SMRS, recently welcomed participants and their families for a Super Bowl watch party that was full of heart and connection.

What could have been just another game day became something more meaningful, a safe and sober space where individuals in recovery could relax, have fun, and enjoy the moment without compromising their healing journey.

The evening was filled with laughter, conversation, and a genuine sense of belonging.

Community-Based Housing (CBH) staff generously contributed fruit and chicken and helped provide additional food to make the gathering extra special. The spread felt like a true family celebration, with potato salad, ceviche, tacos, rice, hot dogs, and more than 20 pounds of carne asada prepared for everyone to enjoy. Sharing a meal together made the space feel warm, welcoming, and abundant.

Children enjoyed face painting and sweet treats like cupcakes and cookies, adding even more joy to the night. Participants cheered for their favorite teams, connected with peers, and simply enjoyed being together in a supportive environment that encourages recovery and strengthens community.

At Mid Valley Outpatient, recovery is not only about attending services. It is about building healthy memories, creating safe and joyful experiences, and forming connections that support long-term healing. Moments like this remind us that recovery grows in community, and Mid Valley remains dedicated to providing spaces where individuals can feel safe, valued, and supported.
