On November 4, our SMRS family gathered for the Quarterly All-Agency Meeting, a day filled with gratitude, teamwork, and inspiration.

CEO Bruce Boardman opened the meeting with heartfelt thanks, reminding everyone that what makes SMRS strong is the compassion and care each person brings to their work every day.

Senior Director of Community Relations Mike Schaub recognized members of the SMRS Veterans Services Committee for the ongoing outreach and presence at veterans community resource fairs to support veterans and their families.

Christie Young, Clinical Internship Coordinator, kept the energy going with the Intern Business Card Challenge, a fun and creative way for the interns to connect and show their growing confidence.

PCADD Program Director Joanna Gomez announced the PCADD Holiday Raffle Fundraiser, with proceeds helping to make this year’s Holiday Party for residents and participants extra special. Program Director Gerardo Barraza also shared that Mid Valley Outpatient will host its own holiday fundraiser on November 15, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., in support of the exact cause.

Ebony Dolphin, Project Director – UCEPP, then invited everyone to the upcoming Meth Awareness Day Event at Skid Row on December 1, a community event dedicated to awareness, connection, and hope.

Guest speaker Johnny Hudson filled the room with laughter and energy as he talked about health, movement, and self-care, reminding us that caring for ourselves isn’t selfish; it’s what allows us to keep caring for others.

The meeting closed with an open Q&A session with CEO Bruce Boardman, followed by a special announcement: SMRS will celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2026 —a proud milestone honoring four decades of compassion and recovery.

As we left the room, one feeling lingered: connection. From words of gratitude to acts of service, the meeting reminded us that together, we continue to make recovery and community care possible every day.
