August 26, 2025, was a day of excitement, collaboration, storytelling, and optimism as we welcomed our community partners to a Community Providers Meeting at the Omni Center in El Monte.

The gathering was hosted by Mike Schaub, Senior Director of Community Relations, and his welcoming personality set the tone for the day. James Murrell, the Omni Center’s Program Director, began with sincere remarks, making the occasion even more touching. He asked one of the residents to come forward and tell his story.
The resident’s story resonated deeply with the audience, reminding us all that recovery is a journey, often marked by setbacks, but always accompanied by hope. His courage in sharing his journey was a powerful proof of the support and guidance that Omni provides.
Next, the providers, the backbone of our community, were brought in. They exchanged updates, went on a tour of the building, and engaged in a conversation filled with ideas on how to grow partnerships and serve those we support more effectively. Guests also saw firsthand the critical work Omni performs, providing Withdrawal Management, Incidental Medical Services (IMS), and Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) in an atmosphere of compassion, order, and peer connection.
As the session came to a close, one message echoed clearly and loudly: when we come together as a community, we create greater avenues for healing. For nearly 40 years, Social Model Recovery Systems has recognized this fact, and this type of gathering ensures that it will continue to thrive.
