Reham began her professional journey at Fullerton College before transferring to the University of California, San Diego, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Global Health. Her research centered on violence prevention in underserved communities, leading her to investigate the role of the prison system in declining mental health and rising recidivism rates. She presented her findings at the UCSD Global Health Symposium in 2019.
Following her undergraduate studies, Reham pursued her Master’s in Public Health at UCLA. During this time, she expanded her research on violence prevention and mental health, examining the significant challenges faced by vulnerable populations and exploring effective intervention strategies to address these issues.
For nearly six years while completing her education, Reham worked at a police department, supporting victims by documenting incident reports and connecting them with essential resources. In her role within Youth Services, she assisted young adults in achieving their personal development goals, and also worked to help individuals experiencing homelessness find shelter and resources.
Her impactful tenure at the Orange County Family Justice Center involved mentoring at-risk youth and assisting with the facilitation of focus groups, while also guiding survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault in accessing vital resources. During this period, she successfully revitalized the curriculum for the Youth Violence Prevention Program, enhancing local community safety for children and teenagers. Reham also worked as a teacher, offering behavioral support to students during school hours and leading after-school enrichment courses in science and art.
Drawn to Social Model Recovery Systems by its steadfast commitment to recovery and support for both adolescents and adults facing mental health and addiction challenges, Reham deeply values the organization’s exceptional inclusivity, diversity, and focus on growth and healing. “I believe in people’s ability to change. With the right support, anything is possible.” In her new role, she aspires to cultivate an environment that inspires staff to become the best version of themselves, ultimately enhancing their lives and the lives of the residents/participants they work with on their path to recovery.
In her free time, Reham enjoys studying astrology.
