Omni Center is thrilled to announce the recent promotion of Valerie Frausto from Primary Counselor to Program Manager.

Valerie joined Omni Center on March 8th, 2021, and has since been an invaluable member of our team. Her willingness to lend a helping hand to her peers and the men receiving treatment services has been admirable. With 12 years of experience working in treatment and nine (9) years as a SUD Counselor, Valerie brings remarkable expertise and steadfast dedication to her new role.

Valerie’s journey into the field of substance use disorder (SUD) treatment is both inspiring and deeply personal. “Growing up seeing my father suffer through his addiction made me want to help others who were suffering through the disease of addiction; unfortunately, I suffered through the disease myself for 17 years. When I started my journey of recovery, I had a calling to work in the field of treatment, and I signed for classes at InterCoast College. Once I started working in the field and working with different populations including Detox, DCFS, Outpatient, and now, all men,  I discovered I had a major passion for helping others. Being here at Omni helped me rediscover why I initially wanted to work in the field of addiction to help men like my dad,” Valerie shares.

One of Valerie’s significant contributions to Omni Center has been her focus on cultivating an atmosphere of healthy living among residents. Recognizing the importance of physical health in the recovery process, she developed a relationship with a local CrossFit gym, allowing residents to visit once a month and participate in complete workouts. This partnership has provided residents with a physical outlet and fostered a sense of camaraderie and support. Additionally, Valerie introduced monthly hikes, giving residents the opportunity to experience the invigorating benefits of nature and physical activity. These hikes have become popular among residents, providing them with a chance to connect with each other and their environment in a meaningful way.

Valerie’s commitment to promoting a positive and supportive environment at Omni Center extends beyond physical health. She has also implemented “Kindness Week,” a special initiative where residents decorate Omni Center with words of kindness and affirmation. This event has not only brightened the surroundings but has also encouraged residents to express gratitude and support for one another, reinforcing the sense of community that is so vital to the recovery process.

As Program Manager, Valerie looks forward to continuing her work with the residents and staff at Omni Center, with a vision to expand health and wellness programs, enhance support systems, and empower residents to achieve their recovery goals. Her well-deserved promotion is a recognition of her impact, and Omni Center is confident that with her on board, the program will thrive and positively affect the lives of those we serve.
