March marks Women’s History Month, a time to honor and celebrate the women who strengthen our communities.

At Social Model Recovery Systems (SMRS), women are part of the heart of the work we do, helping people find hope, rebuild their lives, and move forward in recovery.

Across our programs, women serve in many roles: counselors, program leaders, prevention specialists, outreach staff, and peer supporters. They listen, encourage, and walk alongside individuals during some of the most challenging moments of their lives. The care and support they provide often extend beyond the people in our programs, touching families and strengthening communities.

Women are also helping lead the way within our organization. From program leadership to clinical and administrative roles, women at SMRS help guide teams, shape services, and ensure that participants receive the support they need. Their leadership helps create environments where staff feel supported, and participants/residents feel seen and valued.

At SMRS, recovery is built on connection, trust, and compassion. Women help strengthen that foundation every day through their leadership, care, and dedication. During Women’s History Month, we take a moment to recognize and thank the women who help bring hope and healing to so many.
