A New Year of Hope, Healing & Connection at SMRS
As we step into a new year, we’re grateful for the people and moments that shaped 2025.
Every day across SMRS, we see stories of courage, someone asking for help, someone trying again after a setback, someone choosing hope even when it feels hard. These moments remind us why we do this work.
SMRS staff continues to show incredible heart. They learn, adapt, support one another, and show up with compassion, even on the toughest days. And while we know we can’t help everyone in the exact way we wish we could, we try every single day. Because every person deserves to feel seen, supported, and valued.
We also recognize an important truth: recovery is a shared journey. A whole community can be ready to help, but healing truly begins when a person is willing and ready to take that step for themselves. When that moment comes, we’re just here to walk with them in their walk to be better.
This year, we were honored to join the new Skid Row Care Campus, a partnership built to bring care, dignity, and stability to people who have often been forgotten or overlooked. Being part of this effort reminds us that compassion isn’t just a value; it’s something we put into action, as a community.
Our community work continues to grow as well, from youth prevention efforts to integrated-care collaborations. These partnerships help us reach more people, build trust, and create pathways to healing better than before.
As we look ahead, our focus remains simple: to keep listening, keep supporting, and keep creating spaces where recovery feels possible. One person at a time. One story at a time. One step at a time.
To our staff, participants, alumni, families, and community partners, thank you. You are the reason this work matters. You are the heart of SMRS.
Here’s to a new year filled with hope, connection, and the courage to keep moving forward as a team..
