Honoring 28 Years of Service at Social Model Recovery Systems
Please join us in celebrating the incredible career and well-earned retirement of Arcenia Vizcarra, Controller at Social Model Recovery Systems. After nearly three decades of dedication, leadership, and heartfelt service, Arcenia is officially closing this chapter and stepping into an exciting new phase of life—one filled with travel, relaxation, and precious time with her daughters.

Arcenia’s journey with the organization began in 1996, when she joined Mary Lind Recovery Centers as an accountant. With a background in accounting and prior experience at an income tax office, she initially never imagined entering the world of recovery services. But when a friend encouraged her to apply, she embraced the opportunity, and it turned into a long and fulfilling career. Following the merger of Mary Lind and Social Model Recovery Systems, Arcenia was promoted to Controller, a role she has held with unwavering dedication.
Throughout her time here, Arcenia has not only made a significant financial impact on the organization but has also touched the lives of so many with her warmth, strength, and infectious spirit. As a single mother, she often reflects with pride that her career allowed her to raise and provide for her daughters with stability and love. She credits her work with also deepening her understanding of the 12-step philosophy, teaching her patience, and giving her a profound appreciation for the resilience of those in recovery.

Arcenia is looking forward to enjoying her well-deserved downtime—relaxing, traveling, and being fully present with her family. And for those who know her well, it’s no surprise that she plans to continue dancing through life because yes, Arcenia loves to dance and is truly the life of the party!
When asked about her favorite memory from her career, she playfully replied, “My last day!” But in true Arcenia fashion, she added that every day has been a wonderful day.
We are so grateful for the energy, heart, and excellence Arcenia brought to our organization. Her legacy will be felt for years to come.
