In recognition of April as Stress Awareness Month, our Senior Director, Treatment Services, Denise Hernandez Felice, recently hosted an engaging team-building event designed to promote wellness and strengthen connections among the treatment team.
The team had the unique opportunity to dive into tranquility at Wellnest in Pasadena, where they experienced the calming benefits of dry float therapy. This outing not only provided a much-needed break from the daily grind but also reinforced their commitment to fostering a healthy work environment.

Dry float therapy, also known as zero-gravity dry flotation, is a revolutionary relaxation treatment that simulates the sensation of floating in water without getting wet. During the session, team members laid on a specialized bed equipped with a soft, dry membrane that cradles the body, creating a feeling of weightlessness and suspension akin to floating. This innovative therapy allowed them to disconnect from the stresses of everyday life and immerse themselves in a tranquil experience.
This unique approach to relaxation not only promotes a sense of calm but also serves as an effective tool for stress relief—making it the perfect choice for our team during Stress Awareness Month. Many team members reported feeling rejuvenated and more focused after the session, underscoring the profound impact of prioritizing mental wellness.
Following the rejuvenating therapy session, the team gathered for lunch, providing an opportunity to bond over their shared experiences. Conversations flowed as the team reflected on how the dry float therapy helped them unwind and recharge, reinforcing the importance of mental well-being in both their personal and professional lives. The laughter and camaraderie shared during this time created lasting memories and strengthened relationships among team members.
These team building events are invaluable, as they foster deeper connections among team members and promote a culture of wellness within our organization. By investing in such experiences, we prioritize not only the mental health of our staff but also the collaborative spirit that drives our success. The connections made during these outings contribute to a more cohesive and supportive workplace, ultimately enhancing our overall productivity and morale.
As we continue to champion wellness and connection, we look forward to more opportunities for team building and stress relief for all. These outings are just one way we can encourage our staff to take care of their mental health while building stronger relationships with their colleagues. Together, we can create a supportive environment where everyone can thrive.
Stay tuned for our next outing, and let’s keep the momentum going in promoting wellness and resilience within our teams! We are excited about the future and committed to fostering a culture of support and collaboration.
