In recognition of National Recovery Month, Councilmember Eunisses Hernandez honored Social Model Recovery Systems’ (SMRS’) Royal Palms program on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, during the regular Los Angeles City Council meeting. Royal Palms, located in Council District 1, was among a select group of service providers invited to be recognized for its contributions. The program plays a vital role in offering specialized treatment and recovery services for the LGBTQ+ community, creating inclusive and equitable support systems to address the unique challenges this community faces. This acknowledgment celebrates not only the success of Royal Palms but also underscores the ongoing need to expand access to recovery services for marginalized communities.
