Social Model Recovery Systems (SMRS) was awarded as the Agency of the Year by the University of Southern California (USC) Suzanne Dworek- Peck School of Social Work at their Practicum Instructor Appreciation Luncheon.
Each year, the Practicum Faculty at USC select an agency that they agree has been outstanding in their collaboration with the school in the education of social work students. Of the hundreds of organizations that USC is contracted with as practicum sites across the US, we are truly privileged to receive this prestigious award.
SMRS was nominated by several faculty including Dr. Suh Chen Hsiao, Christina Paddock, and Omar Lopez. In addition to providing students with a great practicum experience at our treatment programs, SMRS collaborated with USC on several grants and initiatives such as the Mentored Internship Program, RecoverUSC, and a seminar for the Taiwanese Children and Families Fund.
We are proud of the dedication by our Director of Innovation, program directors, staff, clinical supervisors, and mentors who have worked closely with the Social Work practicum students. We are also grateful to our executive leadership for supporting us in our collaborations with USC and other educational institutions. It is an honor to be a part of each student’s professional journey while contributing to the future of social work.
