Brandon James has been working with our agency for fourteen years. His first position was at the front desk at the Royal Palms, then he moved to the Rena B and filled several different roles.
Brandon originally worked in the motion picture industry as a craftsman, but his meth addiction derailed his career. Little did Brandon know that his personal recovery would lead him to a new career working in recovery.
Brandon started working at Mary Lind Recovery Centers in 2008 (Mary Lind merged with Social Model in 2015). He began studying for his CADC II certification with the California Consortium of Addiction Programs and Professionals (CCAPP). He earned and has maintained his certification since.
In 2021, Brandon successfully completed the requirements of two Associate Degrees (Associate of Arts in Applied Photography and Arts and Humanities) from Los Angeles City College. He will transfer to Pacific Oaks College to study for a bachelor’s degree in human development through the college’s partnership with SMRS.
The work Brandon has done in our programs as well as navigating folks from jail to treatment has proven valuable. Dedication and smart work practices have brought Brandon into his new role as Program Director, Housing and Alumni.
Brandon has a proven track record and is certain to continue on his path of excellence.
Congratulations, Brandon James!
