We are thrilled to spotlight Elaine Hansen, Primary Counselor at River Community Covina, for her outstanding dedication, compassion, and continued pursuit of excellence. As a certified Substance Use Disorder (SUD) counselor, Elaine has made a meaningful difference in the lives of many on their path to recovery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For more than three years, Elaine has been a trusted member of the River Community Covina team. She is known for her steadfast compassion, strong insight, and the deep care she shows participants every day. Her ability to balance professionalism with empathy creates a safe and supportive space for those she serves. Elaine is not only a valued counselor, but also a supportive colleague who lifts up her team with positivity and a collaborative spirit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elaine recently reached an inspiring milestone\u2014earning her bachelor\u2019s degree in psychology. Balancing academics with full-time work is no small feat, and Elaine\u2019s journey is a testament to her perseverance, resilience, and wholehearted commitment to the behavioral health field. Her dedication to learning reflects her belief in personal growth as a pathway to better service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her academic journey doesn’t stop there. We\u2019re excited to share that Elaine has been accepted into the Master of Social Work (MSW) program at Azusa Pacific University (APU). She will continue her impactful work at River Community Covina while developing new skills and perspectives that will further benefit participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pursuing her MSW is a natural progression in Elaine\u2019s mission to advocate for individuals in recovery and expand her ability to serve with empathy, insight, and leadership. With this next step, Elaine is deepening her ability to address the complex needs of individuals facing co-occurring disorders and other life challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elaine\u2019s story is an inspiring reminder of what it means to lead with purpose and pursue lifelong learning. Her passion for helping others, paired with her commitment to professional development, sets a powerful example for all of us.
