Dr. Anna Lee, Director of Innovation, and John Catania, Billing Coordinator, represented Social Model Recovery Systems at the 4th<\/sup> annual Step on the Green <\/em>golf tournament fundraiser hosted by 3rd<\/sup> Step Ministry. <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This organization supports women in recovery by connecting them to life-changing opportunities and resources. 3rd<\/sup> Step Ministry is mostly supported through the efforts of volunteers with lived experience in recovery from substance use disorders. They offer various support groups and host recovery events throughout the year. The golf tournament facilitated networking with executive leadership from private businesses, nonprofit organizations, and philanthropists while supporting women in recovery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The tournament was held at Candlewood Country Club in Whittier and was a 4-person scramble format. Dr. Lee and John were joined on a team with Ken Aviles, CEO of Swift Outsourcing Solutions, a staffing company, \u00a0and Stephanie Ramirez, Corporate Director of Internal Audits from Trophy Automotive Dealer Group. Although the team did not place in the top three (3), they shot two (2) over par, which was a good finish for the round, and they enjoyed each other\u2019s company. Dr. Lee and John also had the opportunity to meet with the Executive Director of 3rd Step Ministry, Maria Camarillo, a retired social worker from the Department of Children and Family Services and current Bachelor of Social Work Professor at Cal State Los Angeles. We look forward to future collaborations and possibilities that can expand our reach and mission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
