Weeks before Halloween, narcotics officials said they seized 12,000 suspected fentanyl pills hidden in bags of candies like \u201cSkittles\u201d, \u201cSweeTARTS\u201d, and \u201cWhoppers\u201d at the airport.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Los Angeles County Sheriff\u2019s Narcotics Bureau Detectives and Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) agents assigned to a task force at the Los Angeles International Airport seized approximately 12,000 suspected fentanyl pills.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The suspect attempted to go through TSA screening with several bags of candy with the intent of boarding a plane. However, it was discovered that inside candy boxes were fentanyl pills and not candy. The suspect fled prior to being detained by law enforcement but has been identified and the investigation is on-going.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Parents were advised to make sure to check their kids\u2019 candy before allowing them to eat it. In case they find anything in candy boxes that they believe might be narcotics, they should not touch it and immediately notify the local law enforcement agency. <\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
